Peterson Companies pic copyThe Peterson Company’s customer-first mentality has been key to its success.

Tim Peterson founded The Peterson Company in 2010 as a firm specializing in new construction, property maintenance and tenant improvements.  As part of formalizing the company, Peterson tapped five industry experts and longtime associates – Larry Siegler, Bret Stallcop, Don Piggush, Brett Dalton and David Charron – to join the organization as managing partners.

“We had all been completing new construction and property maintenance for the Peterson family for more than 20 years, so it was natural to join forces with Tim in this new venture,” COO Larry Siegler says. “Tim is CEO and is very well respected in the city of Indianapolis. While the five of us work in the day-to-day operations, Mr. Peterson serves as our mentor and leader.”

Vice President of New Construction Bret Stallcop agrees. “Tim is the reason why we do things with integrity and performance,” Stallcop says.  “That is what the Peterson family has stood for in this community for over 50 years, and we are determined to model ourselves in the same character moving forward.

“We aim to protect the Peterson name because if it weren’t for Tim and his father before him, none of us would be doing what we’re doing,” he adds.

McCormick ConstructionMcCormick Construction will bring more housing to Burbank, Calif., next year with the completion of Talaria at Burbank.

McCormick Construction is the general contractor for the development of Talaria at Burbank, a premium residential rental community located in the heart of Burbank, Calif. “It is right in the middle of the Media District so since much of the workforce commutes into Burbank, it has gotten a lot of visibility and interest,” President and CEO Mike McCormick says.

Set to open in the first quarter 2018, McCormick Construction says Talaria at Burbank’s future residents will likely consist of people who currently commute into Burbank for work. The Burbank Studios, iHeart Media and Warner Bros. Studios are all a stone’s throw from Talaria at Burbank. The community is also a short distance from The Walt Disney Co. and Universal Studios.

McCormick Construction is a Burbank-based construction and consulting company with more than 100 years of experience in the industry. “We were founded in 1914 and my brother, Steve, and I are the fourth-generation to run the business,” McCormick says. “I think the biggest differentiator for us is that we are a high-touch builder. It’s all about the client relationship and responsiveness.”

Marvin Wilmoth and Anthony Ceroy, both vice presidents of development, oversee the company’s East Coast development division from Florida, focusing on property development from Florida to New York and west to Louisiana. KCG Development’s team in Texas manages development in the Southeast, and its headquarters in Carmel, Ind., focuses on the Midwest operations.

By Jim Harris

DLC Residential believes in being selective about the projects it develops and builds. “We are a boutique development firm – we try not to overstretch ourselves,” Vice President Nick Coldea says. “We don’t build just to build; we’re very discerning and try not to bite off more than we can chew – that ensures not only quality, and also allows us to deliver the returns promised to our investors.”

The developer works with local brokers to seek out Class A sites in prime markets located in highly visible and walkable areas. “We use broad market knowledge and experience to target the most viable geographic regions, perform extensive research, then acquire the right assets at industry leading cap rates,” the company says.
