It used to be that one would have to take a long trip outside of civilization for the chance to commune with nature and do some hunting. However, the Foxhall Resort & Sporting Club demonstrates that sometimes all it takes is a short drive. Located on 1,100 acres along the Chattahoochee River less than half an hour away from the metropolitan Atlanta area, Foxhall Resort has been described by the developers as “the nation’s first urban sporting club.”
The $1 billion resort community includes such amenities as 15 miles of hiking and bicycle trails, an international shooting club, equestrian facilities, 16 lakes, a golf practice field, and two miles of river frontage. The resort says it also is developing a swim and tennis center as well as a new residential community. When fully realized, Foxhall Resort will consist of nearly 830 single-family homes and 2.3 million square feet of resort space that includes hotels, convention space, condominiums and private resident clubs. According to the developers, Foxhall Resort is believed to be the largest resort zoning in the history of Atlanta.
One of the most prominent features at the resort is the residential communities that make up much of the resort’s space. The resort’s custom homes feature spacious floor plans and interior options such as wine cellars, custom kitchens and media walls. Exterior options include screen porches, outdoor kitchens and fire pits, according to the resort.
Helping to bring those designs to life is Georgia’s Camp Contracting. Since 2002, Camp Contracting has leveraged the more than 50 years of experience of its principals into numerous successful projects through out the Southeast. Among the company’s many talents is its skill in building residential projects.
“While serving west Georgia, Camp Contracting has committed itself to building, remodeling and improving homes to fit every customer’s needs no matter what their budget,” the company says. “With a seasoned team of professionals, Camp Contracting offers [many] years of building and development experience.”
However, residential construction is not Camp Contracting’s only specialty. “In addition to residential construction, Camp Contracting is also involved in several commercial projects, including office parks, schools and hospitals,” the company says.
Camp Contracting says one of its primary strengths is its size and status as a family business because of how it helps the company provide personalized service to its clients. “By remaining a small, family-run business, customers have the luxury of always dealing directly with a member of our team,” the company says.
Camp Construction’s team is headed by President and CEO Greg Camp, who founded the firm in 2002 after building up 12 years of experience in residential construction and nine years of experience in the commercial construction industry. Along with Chief of Operations Shannon Lucas, Project Manager Dan Cunningham and General Superintendent Kenny Maxwell, Camp Contracting’s team leadership and experience has been the key to its overall success.
“With an amazing office staff, Camp Contracting wants to provide the best customer service in the construction industry,” the company says. With the addition of projects such as the Foxhall Resort to its portfolio, Camp Contracting is living up to that promise and appears primed to continue to do so well into the future.
Camp’s partners include Amazon Stone.
