Loerke explains that LCG Pence began as Dale Pence Construction, a Salem, Ore.-based construction company founded by Dale Pence in 1949. In 2002, the company merged with Loerke’s firm, Loerke Construction Group (LCG), which was based in Portland, Ore.

“The merger,” according to Loerke, “was successful because everyone involved shares the same passion for construction. Together, we’ve been able to capitalize and build upon on each other’s strengths. As a result, we have a work force with greater depth of experience, we became more diversified in the types of work we pursue, and we improved our positioning in both Salem and Portland.”

Given the diversity of work that LCG Pence performs, the company can be described as a true “general” contractor.
