The main campus of Memorial Hospital is located in downtown Colorado Springs. Since 1998, JE Dunn has completed $160 million worth of projects for the hospital, such as a medical plaza, parking structure, linear accelerator, renovations and administrative support offices. “Working with the hospital has been a great experience,” he says. “The job began as a partnership and everyone finished as a team.”

‘Putting Clients First’
JE Dunn Rocky Mountain is an independent, privately held member of the JE Dunn Group of Companies. John Ernest Dunn founded the company as a residential contractor in 1924. Today, JE Dunn is a commercial general contractor and the fifth-largest healthcare builder in the country, with 17 offices and yearly revenues of $2.6 billion. “The JE Dunn legacy can be found in its spirit of excellence of giving and growing into the 21st century, and its continued commitment to core values,” the company says.

The company provides a wide range of pre-construction, construction and post-construction services. It also performs general contracting, construction management, design/build and program management services.

More than 80 percent of its customers are repeat clients, the company says. It attributes that high percentage to quality work, putting the clients first and focusing on long-term goals. “Satisfied clients come back for more, and they tend to tell the world about you,” the company says. “Dissatisfied clients just do the latter.”

The company recently received many awards, including:

  • 2007 Excellence in Concrete Awards, Mid-Rise Building Award from the Concrete Promotional Group.
  • 2007 AGC of Colorado ACE Award for Residences at Belmar in Lakewood, Colo.
  • 2007 National Design-Build Project Award given by the Design-Build Institute of America.
  • 2006 Contractor of the Year given by the Hispanic Contractor’s Association of Colorado.
