The concrete industry can be loosely defined by the more
than 35 individual non-profit organizations in the United States alone that make up
the Concrete and Masonry-Related Associations (CAMRA). CAMRA's members
represent diverse market segments ranging from materials such as cement, flyash
and slag to concrete products, including ready mix, precast, masonry and pipe.
The diverse nature and interests of a fragmented concrete industry do not
permit the industry to easily address its role in sustainability in a uniform
and proactive manner. |
