![]() ParkLane Homes says its dedication to the customer and a commitment to “building excellence in every detail” have allowed it to distinguish itself in the marketplace for more than 25 years. “From selecting the very best locations to designing innovative homes for today’s lifestyles … this attention to detail is most evident in the more than 5,500 homes in over 90 communities we’ve built,”?it says.
hrough independent surveys, ParkLane Homes has determined that 90 percent of its homeowners would recommend the company to a friend or family member. Additionally, the company says, it is aware that more than 20 percent of its new home sales are the result of customer referral. ParkLane says this sort of reputation has made it one of the biggest and most-recognized residential developers in western Canada. “The professionalism and friendliness of your staff has been incredible – thank you for making the purchase of our first home a positive experience,” homeowners Tom and Francoise Orr said in a letter to ParkLane. “We are getting a great value for our investment, thanks to you.” Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, ParkLane Homes says its dedication to the customer and a commitment to “building excellence in every detail” has allowed it to distinguish itself in the marketplace for more than 25 years. Additionally, the focus on customers and construction excellence, it says, has resulted in ParkLane being recognized with more than 250 provincial and nationwide awards for building excellence, including the Best Builder in British Columbia and Canada awards. “Our philosophy, that every detail matters, is evident in everything that we do,” the company says. “From selecting the very best locations, to designing innovative homes for today’s lifestyles, to delivering one of the best customer service programs in the industry. This attention to detail is most evident in the more than 5,500 homes in over 90 communities we’ve built since 1980. It’s our promise and one that continues to result in award-winning neighborhoods that offer exceptional value for years to come.” One of the company’s most recent residential developments is Heritage Woods near Heritage Mountain in Port Moody, British Columbia. This is a 300-acre master-planned and architecturally controlled community with a number of neighborhoods. When it is completely finished, Heritage Woods will have 1,300 homes among 100 acres of parks, walking trails, bike paths and other public spaces. ParkLane says Heritage Woods has already won more than 30 awards of excellence, including being named the Best Residential Development in British Columbia by the Canadian Homebuilders’ Association. Heritage Woods’ completed neighborhoods include: Creekside – This neighborhood has 43 upscale three-and four-bedroom homes that back onto a natural forest and active creek. ParkLane says the use of varying exterior architectural styles provided customers with many choices and created streetscapes that are similar to an established neighborhood.
for the Best Townhouse Development in British Columbia and Canada; the Greater Vancouver Regional District also recognized it for Best Practices in Housing.
“Care and attention have gone into every detail to create a prestigious neighborhood in harmony with the environment,” ParkLane says of the Heritage Woods development. “Homes are situated to take full advantage of the scenic mountainside location and spectacular views of the Fraser Valley and Gulf Islands.” The developer believes there are many reasons people purchase a ParkLane home. ParkLane says it excels in finding desired locations, helping customers create the right home for them and then customizing it, and providing a high level of customer care throughout the entire process. ParkLane notes it is dedicated to selecting neighborhoods that are close to amenities that are important to homeowners, such as schools, transportation, shopping and recreation. Additionally, it notes, ParkLane plans its communities to control and carefully implement many details to ensure its vision is met. Overall, the company says, it delivers “perfect locations” for its customers to live and grow. “The end-result,” ParkLane says, “is a well-planned, architecturally controlled community, in harmony with its environment that enhances our customers’ lives and retains its value for years to come.” ParkLane wants its homebuyers to find the home that meets their needs, so it allows customers to work with its experienced in-house design team. The company says its designers create “extremely functional and livable homes” that have won numerous awards. Additionally, ParkLane notes, it has been named one of the Best Managed Companies in Canada, which has allowed it to draw in the best talent. The company explains its dedication to customer care is backed up by the fact that it has won the Georgie award – awards for excellence in homebuilding from the Canadian Home Builders’ Association – for the Best Customer Service Program in British Columbia six times, which is unprecedented in the market. ParkLane says its focus on customer care has many facets:
“Many of our homeowners have bought multiple homes from us,” the company says. “We keep up-to-date on the latest homebuilding trends across North America, which enables our innovative and functional designs to fit today’s lifestyles. “Additionally, we are a recognized leader in product research and performance standards. This is what we stand for – building excellence into every detail. Our pricing is kept very competitive, which is a practice validated by our own proven track record of selling homes.” ParkLane notes its quality is enhanced by its commitment to the environment. It promises to build homes that are environmentally sound and stable, using the latest, industry-approved engineered materials, such as finger-jointed studs, drywall, OSB sheathing and insulation. The company explains its just-in-time policy with regard to the purchase of lumber avoids overstocking and unnecessary waste. “We consciously recycle, practice waste management and minimize landfill use onsite,” the company says. “Trades are required to take cardboard to designated recycling boxes on each site and, where possible, lumber and drywall scraps are sorted for appropriate recycling. “Overall, our waste management program ensures the recycling of as many materials as possible to minimize landfill space. ParkLane innovates and is always looking for new ways to contribute to a better environment.” ParkLane explains the original recreational campus was built in 1973 and has been undergoing construction work for the past three years to renovate and expand the building into one multi-use modern facility. The new building, which opened in April, is called the ParkLane Fitness Center and provides Port Moody residents with two arenas, two gymnasiums, a curling center, running track, sauna and steam amenities, fitness center, dance studio, spinning studio, child play center and physiotherapy clinic. The company says the 5,400-square-foot space has floor-to-ceiling windows on three sides and is equipped with state-of-the-art machines. For example, the facility’s treadmills feature individual iPod-compatible television screens. “We’re absolutely delighted to contribute [to] the new recreation complex,” ParkLane said. “We believe in giving back to the communities where we are active, and we’re happy to support Port Moody and be an important part of their efforts to make this city a terrific place to live and play.” The company notes it also was a member of the 2003 task force that provided input on the programming and funding of the new recreation complex. Last year, ParkLane pledged $10,000 to the Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation in British Columbia, which was used to purchase critical medical equipment. Eagle Ridge, the company says, is the community hospital for the 200,000 residents of Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Anmore and Belcarra. Each year, 100,000 residents visit the hospital, and of those, 33,000 patients are in need of emergency care. The Eagle Ridge Foundation purchases almost 70 percent of all critical medical equipment for the hospital each year, and the hospital has no other source of funding for these needs. “The relationship between ParkLane Homes and Eagle Ridge Hospital is long-standing,” Chairman of Eagle Ridge Peter Irving said in a statement. “In response to a leadership gift from ParkLane Homes in the early days of the hospital, the hospital’s large meeting room was named the ParkLane Room to mark their support. Eagle Ridge is proud of the fact that our relationship with ParkLane Homes continues to this day.” ParkLane’s Marketing Manager Curt Woodhall added, “It’s exciting to support some of the Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation’s initiatives to help meet the ever-changing needs of the community. We are committed to supporting and giving back to the communities that we are helping to create.” |
